The name

Petit Lys, the little lily

In French, petit lys means little lily.

For centuries the lily has been the flower of purity, of new beginnings and of quiet grace. It opens softly, in the first light of spring.

A new baby is just that: the little lily of the family, the newest bloom on the family tree. So we set a small gold lily at the heart of our roundel, and we stitch one into every piece we make, a wish for the first light of a new life.

The maison

A new heirloom house

Petit Lys is a growing layette maison, born in New York, crafted for many families: pima and organic cotton in soft blush, écru and faded pink, for a baby’s very first days.

Our collections grow season by season, and every one is held to the same promise: the same fine pima, the same hand-finished lily, the same care, at every scale. Quiet luxury that is soft enough for the first night and good enough to hand down.

The softest fibres

Peruvian pima and organic cotton interlock. Flat seams, nickel-free snaps and mother-of-pearl buttons, so nothing touches the skin but cotton.

Growing, season by season

New collections every season, made with trusted partner workshops to one standard, so every family receives the same fine pima and the same finishing, at every scale.

Heirloom finishing

Picot edges, satin-stitch embroidery and a woven ivory label. Made to be gifted, washed again and again, and kept.

The core line

Six pieces, one cloth

The everyday heirlooms, every one cut from the same pima interlock: a footie, a coverall, a bonnet, booties and a gift box, with a small floral print to follow.

Craft & materials

Made with care, for the very small

One fabric, one lily, one standard of finishing across every piece, in every collection.

Pima interlock

Peruvian pima cotton interlock, about 190 gsm: dense, smooth on both faces, and softer with every wash. Organic double muslin for swaddles.

Picot trims & piping

Ivory picot at necks, cuffs and ruffles; contrast piping on the coverall. Self-bound round necks with no collar, nothing to scratch.

Heirloom finishing

Satin-stitch lily, 2.5 cm, one per piece. A woven ivory neck label in champagne thread, a separate size tab, and a printed satin care label at the side seam.

Safe by intent

Every piece is designed to meet US children’s product safety standards. We are specifying OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics and trims and nickel-free snaps, and each style will be tested at a CPSC-accepted laboratory before it ships. Certificates will be published here as they are granted.

Trade & partners

For manufacturers, suppliers and stockists

Petit Lys launches in spring 2027 and grows from there, collection by collection. We are building long-term partnerships with makers and packaging houses who want to grow with us, and we welcome enquiries from the trade.

Manufacturers

Cut-and-sew makers of fine baby layette in pima or organic cotton interlock, with embroidery capability and the capacity to grow with us from first production into repeat seasons. We send full tech packs and measurement charts.

Suppliers

Rigid gift boxes, printed tissue, grosgrain ribbon, woven labels, hang tags and trims. Proofs before production, and volumes that grow season by season.

Stockists

Boutiques, department stores and gift stores that share our sense of quiet. Wholesale terms and the linesheet are shared on request.
